2. When worship is conducted in the field, it shall be presented with reverence, simplicity, and historical accuracy, reflecting the documented practices of the period.

3. Field sermons, Scripture readings, and prayers shall be drawn from sources appropriate to the era represented.

4. No display of religion shall be made for spectacle or novelty; devotion, when represented, shall reflect the sober and earnest character of the time.

5. Members shall conduct themselves with quiet respect during all services and sacred observances.

6. Chaplains and lay leaders conducting services shall serve all believers without respect to denomination, remembering that soldiers of differing communions stood side by side in the ranks.

7. In accordance with established military and ecclesiastical precedent of the period, preaching shall be confined to spiritual instruction and comfort. The Law shall be declared, and the Gospel proclaimed, to the best of the leader’s ability; political questions, civil controversies, and partisan discourse shall not be introduced into the service.

8. The Chaplain is nonpartisan. In field worship, he shall know no party, either in Church or State, but shall labor solely for the spiritual welfare of the men.
